Video and personal accounts – Women and the Struggle in Oaxaca

November 8th, 7 PM, Friends Center - 1501 Cherry street
An evening of video and personal accounts about women’s struggles in Oaxaca Mexico. Oaxaca is one of the poorest states in Mexico. Women there have been in open struggle against globalization and political corruption since 2004. We offer this evening of education and solidarity with our sisters in Mexico. Two short videos and a presentation by women who have been living in Oaxaca during the recent confrontations.

Weekly vigils to share information about the war/occupation. Get Philadelphians to contact Senators Casey and Specter and demand they stop all funding for the war.

Black Friday – Don’t Buy the War action

November 23rd , (the day after Thanksgiving) 11 AM – 1 PM Distribute price tags about the cost of the war and how that money could be put to better use in Philly. Leaflet and collect signatures on the petitions to Casey and Specter. Lunch in Chinatown afterwards?
